I went downtown today to watch the Third Annual Tucson Madonnari International Chalk Art Festival. Pretty cool to watch the artists working on their temporary public art pieces from start to finish. Here are a few selected pics:
Warren -- two wonderful posts! I don't know which I like best, your sidewalk chalk art or the monsters in your sadly defunct miniature golf park. What happens to them?
grannyj -- thanks! According to the news over 500 people signed up to play a round, and several hundred additional were expected to drop in. Some people even flew into town to attend and relive memories of their childhood, first kiss, etc. Apparently 5 or 6 of the features are going to the Valley of the Moon (an even older non-golf area of features built in the 1920's that people are working to restore) and the Tiki head to a local restaurant. Not sure about the rest. A nice article in today's Sunday paper: http://www.azstarnet.com/metro/236243.php
HI Warren, thanks for the b'day wishes. Glad to hear you went to the Silver Lining Cafe and enjoyed a meal there. I really like Pam the owner of the cafe. I hope her little cafe can make it! cheers!
