Tucson Water Festival

I shot this picture today at the Armory Park Center looking out a door window, through a fence, at a wall mural.  I like the way everything came together for this shot.

I really enjoyed the music and dance performances at the Tucson Water Festival: Synergy of Art, Science, and Community.

Here are a few pictures of a very cool and energetic dance performance by the Tucson Arts Brigade Dance Theater Troupe in collaboration with Aztec dance group Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc.

This man led the audience in a very fun and vigorous dance -- my legs were tired!

Great event, lots of great music, good people, community.   It was a shame that today's rain festival put a damper on the Solar Rock Festival and Cyclovia, but fitting that the Water Festival went full stream ahead.  Great day!

[New to me: (#13) attended the Water Festival in Tucson]

  2. I'm not sure how to contact. You might check with / search for Danza Azteca Calpulli Tonantzin which is a different group name but may be related/connected. This group is going to be performing the Saturday downtown at Tucson Meet Yourself. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend due to other conflicts.

  3. Ah, it appears that Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc is indeed still around, they are playing at Tucson Meet Yourself this weekend on Sunday afternoon from 5:30 - 6:00pm on the Global Rythems Stage downtown. If you are in the Tucson area, you might drop by to see them.
